Call for Proposals - Information Law in Scotland

The Scottish Law and Innovation Network is holding a workshop on information law in Scotland. This workshop seeks to asses the scope of, and potential for, a distinct Scottish information law. It is part of the program of SCOTLIN events funded by the Royal Society of Edinburgh.


The workshop will take place on Wednesday 31 August 2022 at CREATe (the UK Copyright and Creative Economy Centre), University of Glasgow in a hybrid format. The workshop will seek to facilitate discussion of developments in information law, broadly conceived, in Scotland within and alongside relevant legal frameworks in the United Kingdom and internationally.


Any proposal which fits the workshop theme is welcome, including but not limited to, proposals on the development in Scotland of:


Privacy rights

Defamation law reform

Intellectual property litigation and remedies


Short abstracts outlining the proposed presentation are welcomed from scholars at any stage in their career including PhD candidates.


Abstracts are due by 17 June 2022 and should be sent to marta.iljadica@glasgow.ac.uk, as should any queries regarding the workshop.


Acceptance will be notified by 8 July 2022.
