Daria Onitiu

Member

Daria Onitiu is a Postdoctoral Researcher within the Trustworthiness for AI Auditing project at the Oxford Internet Institute where she investigates the legal aspects of trustworthy AI in medicine, healthcare and open science. She was previously Research Associate at the Trustworthy Autonomous Systems (TAS) programme and based Edinburgh Law School, where she investigated the way technical safeguards can shape notions of notions accountability and responsibility regarding medical diagnostic systems.

Daria has a strong interest in interdisciplinary research investigating the facets and boundaries of the law to address pressing societal problems caused by novel technologies. Her doctoral thesis was awarded at Northumbria Law School in 2022 and considered the meaning of the right to privacy, considering the impact of fashion recommender systems on an individual’s autonomy and identity.
